Major pollen allergen Ole e 1, it’s a protein present in the olive pollen and is responsible for the seasonal allergy olive tree, which occurs mainly in regions with a Mediterranean climate and also in areas of South Africa, North America and Australia. The great majority of patients sensitized to olive pollen have IgE immunoreactive against Ole e 1 protein and symptoms of exposure are rhinitis, conjunctivitis and asthma.
